Addition of Services
Right across from us, used to live Sunil and Sunita. She came to this neighbourhood in 1992. In a G+2 home, at that time there were around 8-9 people living there.
The home used to share a common wall with a chawl and there were little punctures in it that aunties used for daily catch up and converse.
The unit used to share a common washroom on the second floor.
As Sunil and the rest of the home grew old, it became difficult for them to go all the way up just to acess the washroom, and he was relectunt to build one in the shop. So in the front of the home, right where the new staircase ends, he got built a new washroom unit after converting it from the verandah space. Cutting off half of the window source that was lighting up the space.
The staircase that was built in the front came with its own cons, for it to be placed that punctures in the shared wall had to be filled that cut off contact with their neighbours.
